Eng. Francis Gitau has extensive experience in the transport sector. His expertise encompasses strategic leadership, resource management, labor-based road construction and maintenance, financial monitoring, evaluation, corporate governance, and FIDIC principles. With a strong foundation in the transport sector and a proven track record in policy, project management, and oversight, Eng. Gitau is instrumental in driving the transformation of the public transport industry.

Before his current role, he served as the Roads Secretary in the State Department of Roads, Ministry of Roads and Transport. He has held leadership positions such as Chairman of the Mechanical Transport Fund, Chairman of the Budget Committee in the Infrastructure Department, and Chairman of the Transport Sector Training Committee at the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). Additionally, he has held key roles in the National Steering Committee on Review of Road Department.

A seasoned engineer with an MSc in Transport Engineering and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi, Gitau has furthered his education with an Executive MBA from JKUAT and advanced professional training in Road Maintenance Management from Aachen University, Germany.
